CANADIAN AUTO PARTS CLASS ACTION SETTLEMENT
The Canadian Auto Parts Class Action Settlement is comprised of numerous class actions, all of which allege that defendant companies participated in conspiracies to fix the prices of automotive parts. This led to higher motor vehicle prices, which impacted dealers and their customers.
This settlement includes automotive dealers, end users, as well as manufacturers. There is currently a $102,500.000 settlement fund.
These parts were sold in Canada and/or sold to manufacturers for installation in automotive vehicles in Canada, and include air conditioners, alternators, fuel injection systems, starters, windshield wiper systems, among other parts found in all modern motor vehicles.
Eligibility requirements include all persons in Canada who purchased or leased (either directly or indirectly) an automotive vehicle in Canada, purchased or leased an automotive vehicle for import in to Canada, or purchased (either directly or indirectly) a relevant part in Canada between January 1, 1999 and December 10, 2019.
