Apple iPhone Class Action Settlement
The Apple iPhone Settlement reimburses consumers and businesses who purchased Apple iPhone 6’s, 7’s or SE devices prior to December 21, 2017. It alleges a specific software update was designed to slow phones down and force consumers to purchase newer models. The settlement fund will be between $310,000,000 – $500,000,000 and will distribute between $25 – $500 per eligible device.
In addition to natural persons, eligible claimants also include non-natural persons such as businesses that purchased smartphones for their employees to use for employment purposes. If your company purchased phones for employees to use, there is a very good chance tht it will be eligible to collect from the settlement. Although the claim filing deadline was October 6, 2020, we believe that the administrator may accept late claims. However, time is of the essence.
Eligible phone models include iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6s, 6s Plus, and SE devices that ran iOS 10.2.1 or later, or, iPhone 7 and 7 Plus devices that ran iOS 11.2 or later prior to December 21, 2017.
