Menactra Vaccine Antitrust Settlement
Settlement: Castro, M.D., P.A. v. Sanofi Pasteur Inc.
Settlement Fund: $61,500,000.00
Case Synopsis: The lawsuit, brought by three pediatric physician practices, claimed that physicians, medical practices, vaccine distributors/wholesalers, and health systems who bought Menactra directly from Sanofi paid higher prices than they should have for quadrivalent meningococcal vaccines (“MCV4 Vaccines”), which inoculate against four strains of bacterial meningitis. The lawsuit alleged that the higher prices resulted from Sanofi engaging in anticompetitive conduct.
Eligibility Requirements: All persons or entities in the United States and its territories that purchase Menactra directly from defendant Sanofi Pasteur Inc. (“Sanofi”) or any of its divisions, subsidiaries, predecessors, or affiliates, such as VaxServe, Inc.
